Lab in a Library is a new community group that have applied for charitable status.

So what do we do?  We bring activities to all primary aged children and their families within the environment of a library or a community centre as a pop-up science event.

What We Do ...

Based in Suffolk we book our events with your local library and they pay us for our services and events.  Some libraries charge their participants a nominal fee to join in with one of our workshops.  Our workshops last approx. 1.5 hours and involve hands-on activities and with something to take home at the end of the session.  We encourage adults to join in as well and to be involved to help the younger children who may need a hand to accomplish the tasks.

Presently we can visit libraries in Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.  If you would like our team to “bring on the fun” in your library then do have a chat with us and we will entertain your local customers and encourage reading about the topics and borrowing books at the end of the session.

Topics we cover in libraries can be chosen from:

We will be creating fun family days as pop-up arts and science festivals in community centres and village halls. These will be advertised here and on social media so do follow us on Facebook and join in the fun that will inspire everyone!!

Please note all bookings are to be made directly with the library as they handle enquiries and bookings for each event in a library.  Pop-up events will be advertised on “Eventbrite” and booking must be made in advance on their website.
